Coming together

These past five days we have shared five meals with extended family.

To me, Easter means so much more than food, but our celebrations are so often centred around food.

It's in this act of cooking, sharing our food, coming together around the table, eating and speaking over food that so much connection is created and celebrated.

In our coming together I stopped to notice all the wonder that comes when we take places around the table. In sharing food, thoughts and heart. Together.

So much happiness and gratitude was offered in our coming together as family these past five days. And I don't want to wait for a so-called good reason to celebrate that any more.

It may not be every weekend but a little more will only see us finding more joy, more connection, even more reasons to love. Of this, I'm sure.

xx

{A big thank you to my beautiful family I shared meals and memories with this past weekend. Elisa xx}

Do your family celebrations centre around sharing food?

  1. Yes, I think a lot of our celebrations with family center around food, although I am always trying to add in a little nature connection to our celebrations as well :)

    My parents were away this year, still down south and my brother was working and the rest of his family were at a hockey tournament. We usually spend Easter with them and I missed it. We did have dinner with my in laws on Sunday, it wasn't quite the same though.

    Sounds like you had a lovely weekend with your family.
