By the sea ~ 2/52

In a week of mindful, stepping away from the computer and large healthy doses of reading and meditation, the hot weather decided to finally arrive.

Yesterday was our first true beach day of the summer. Even if I spent more time preparing {trying to find a beach tent that I could successfully open and close on my own - don't even get me started on those ridiculous pop-up / won't pop down contraptions...} and packing our bags, then actual time spent at the beach!

It was a morning of clear cool blue water, sticking-to-everywhere sand, icy poles, and squeals and laughter from my two girls as they jumped up and down in the waves.

Truly grateful for a week of doing nothing extra, and to live where we do.

xx

Do you love the beach? And what are you most grateful for today? x

  1. Looks like a lovely beach! We don't live near the beach so it's a major outing when we go. We went to a lovely little beach for my hubby's birthday, which is located within a cove and has a spectacular view of the city :)

  3. it's my happy place too, and I hear you loud and clear on those stupid won't pop down EVER again shade things. I actually thought we would have to live at the the beach the first time I tried to pack ours up, luckily we had a van and I could shove it in the back still popped. It lived in the shed that summer popped up and was promptly thrown out at the next shed clean out.

  4. Oh so you are doing an ocean picture each week? Divine! (I saw last week but wasn't sure if I misunderstood your project.) Elisa I so miss the sea. I really would love to visit the sea in person sometime this year, hopefully I will get that chance. In the meantime I will look at your beautiful pictures and let my heart smile. :) What a lovely project. xx

  6. I love the beach also I fact we were there at 6:30 am this morning to beat the heat. I have to admit I do not go much these days as it is such an effort with sunscreen, boys, blistering sun. and sand sand sand. The water is always amazing though. So great you had time to switch of and reconnect.

  7. Another Elisa! I had to swing by when I saw your name in the comments at Kim's (Mothering w/ Mindfulness). We are stuck deep in snow in Minnesota, but I always love the beach and the summers.

  8. I love the beach! So much...though I have to avoid it unless it's early or late in the day as it's so so hot in the summer. And yes, this post is completely appropriate for Sunshine Sunday linky! It's a very relaxed linky party by the way. No real rules :) x

  10. We've not made it to the beach just yet this Summer. Our weekends have been too full, which is unfortunate because I love the sense of calm and slow the water brings. X
