Light and shade

Bright sun-filled days have graced us this past week, only to be replaced with the shade of clouds and rain the next day.

I can't help but notice the contrast, and how each helps you appreciate the other.

As we walked in the late afternoon light earlier in the week, I snapped images, gave thanks for the sun, watched my girls play and began to notice life was feeling lighter too.

Soon though I found myself reflecting {dwelling a little} on the shadows of the past month.

And it was then I remembered the more I tune into my heart the more easily that shade transforms itself to light.

xx

What are you most grateful for today? x

  1. Lovely hon. I also appreciate the contrast, if we never had sadness or rain or hard times would we feel the light and joy as strongly? Xxxx

    1. I've thought about this lately. I suppose we're really living when we're experiencing both xx

  2. "And it was then I remembered the more I tune into my heart the more easily that shade transforms itself to light." Love these words...will be printing and hanging close by so I can read it often.

Most grateful today for the two men in my life, my hubby and my son. So very wonderful to be sharing this journey with them.

  5. If everything was just light, we'd miss out on all those wonderful textures that shadows can bring. I truly believe that. To grow, you need both. x

  6. I'm right there basking in the sun-shiny deliciousness with you, lovely. The clouds in my mind part too with the onset of Spring. But how right you are... the sun will shine within despite the season so long as you let in. X

  7. Elisa, I have a post on my blog called Grateful for light and shade and I wrote it when I could find absolutely nothing else to be grateful for. I really hope your post doesn't come from the same place, but if it does - it is just a phase and please keep on remembering that shadow cannot be without light.

  8. Evocative words and thoughts. I try to live and keep my thoughts in the light all the time, the shadows can chase you down quickly if one is not careful.

Thank you for popping by blog as well this week and for you lovely comment on my post. It was a very personal post and I appreciate people pausing long enough to leave comment on such a post. X
