It's morning

Since January 1, my three year old has been amazed every time she walks into the kitchen and sees light filtering through the windows.

"Look Mum! Wow, the light! It's morning!!"

Whether there be sunshine or an overcast sky, she sees the light of a new day. And wants to celebrate it.

I love that the lessons I most need often come from my little girl.

She has reminded me of a beautiful affirmation I used to begin my days with: Today is a wonder-filled day.

I said it silently, letting the words roll around in my head the moment I woke. Repeating them, and always thinking them with gratitude. Giving thanks for a new day, for the wonder that would be coming our way.

Somehow, slowly, I let it go. But I know slowly {with gentle practice} it will come back to being a natural and effortless part of my morning. Starting today.

xx

Do you have a morning affirmation? And what are you most grateful for today?

{Grateful for the reminder, for the beauty and wonder my three year old sees and for each new day ~ Linking with Maxabella and Kidspot's 52 Weeks of Grateful over here.}

  3. Children are so very intuitive and teach us lots when we are willing to see and hear. What a beautiful heart your little one has. I have been saying to myself each day that this year is going to be a good year, I'm looking forward to this year after the year we had last year. Have a wonderful weekend Elisa. xx

  9. A beautiful affirmation Elisa. My morning affirmation is: today is a good day. Another thing I think about in the morning and during the day is that it's up to me to choose happiness throughout the day. Have a lovely weekend, Julie xxoo

  12. I try but often fail, to remind myself each morning that "something glorious will happen today" Today I am grateful that life seems to be evening out a bit for the moment. Love the mental pic of your sweet girl walking into the room and seeing such wonder.
